History of Chiapanecan Coffee

Coffee beans were taken to Chiapas in 1847. It was Geronimo Manchinelli who brought them from Guatemala to the town of Tuxtla Chico. There, the beans quickly adapted to the weather and the soil of that territory which was crowned by the Tacaná Volcano. Since then, Chiapas became the main producer of  high quality organic coffee in Mexico and the world.
